"He's a Van Dijk type" - Chelsea target commended by Bayern Munich legend

Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus has showered acclaim on Juventus safeguard Matthijs de Ligt, who keeps on being connected with a transition to the Bavarians and Chelsea.

Matthaus was addressing Sport Bild where he offered his perspective on the Dutch safeguard, contrasting him with his countryman Virgil van Dijk:

"He's a Van Dijk type, can assume the job of guard boss at Bayern, which is missing there. He's quite possibly of the best focal safeguard in Europe, and at 22 he's such a youthful player that Bayern might have finished with that situation for the following couple of years. A super exchange on the off chance that it works - a colossal increase."

De Ligt, 22, has been a backbone in Juventus' side since joining from Ajax in 2019 for £76.95 million.

He dazzled in Turin last season, showing up for the Old Lady yet discusses another arrangement with the Serie A goliaths have arrived at a stalemate.

Hypothesis has developed over the Dutchman taking action this mid year with Chelsea and Bayern Munich circumnavigating.

A €90 million bid is purportedly being ready by the Bundesliga champions for De Ligt, who keeps on being one of Chelsea's top exchange targets.

The Blues are managing the takeoffs of focus back couple Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, who have joined Real Madrid and Barcelona separately.

In the interim, De Ligt's inclination is to join Bayern, with the safeguard having apparently concurred terms to join the German side.

The 22-year-old has two years left on his ongoing arrangement with Juventus yet a move is by all accounts not too far off this late spring.

One more blow for Chelsea assuming Matthijs de Ligt joins Bayern Munich

Chelsea are needing guarded fortifications following the flights of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Both were central members in Thomas Tuchel's protective framework at Stamford Bridge, with the couple a piece of the west London side's 2021 Champions League achievement

Rudiger's takeoff is positively an immense misfortune to the Blues as the German had become one of Europe's top community backs under Tuchel.

Matthijs de Ligt has every one of the properties to supplant Rudiger with his impressive presence and administration characteristics.

Having the Dutchman sit close by any semblance of Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta in Tuchel's back five might have been a predominant cautious set-up for the Blues.

Yet, the previous Ajax skipper may be favoring a transition to Bayern Munich, which leaves Tuchel left in a fix.
