GREATER PART OF ATTENDANTS, MATERNITY SPECIALISTS DIDN'T GET COVID PROTECTION

The General Secretary of Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), David Tenkorang-Twum has shown that attendants are yet to get the protection guaranteed them by government during the pandemic.

As per him, the people who became sick and lost their lives because of the pandemic their families never got any bundle.

Talking on 'The Probe' on Joy News on June 10, that's what he noticed, none of government's vows to forefront laborers was fulfiled.

"We have a bunch of difficulties. It was rarely paid. Larger part of individuals didn't get it. I know a few medical caretakers and specialists who passed on and their family members never got the protection. And, surprisingly, the individuals who fell wiped out.

"Remember that the protection was in stages; the people who were seriously sick, in the ICU and the individuals who passed on. I'm letting you know that greater part of medical attendants and birthing assistants never got protection. Indeed, even the half stipend which should be progressed to the people who were dealing with our Covid patients, the majority of them didn't get.
