Instruction Ministry to give food supplies to Upper West schools tomorrow

The Education Ministry says it has made game plans with providers to give senior secondary schools in the Upper West Region with food.

The local part of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools last week gave an admonition that understudies and guardians might be constrained to take up the expense of taking care of assuming the public authority neglected to give supplies in six days or less.

In a letter to the Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service, CHASS noticed that the food providers reached by the Buffer Stock Company, as well as neighborhood providers reached to assist are declining to do as such, refering to non-installment of exceptional monies owed them by the public authority.

This they say has exacerbated a generally critical circumstance in schools in the locale, for certain schools not having an adequate number of provisions to most recent seven days.

Most schools had run out of maize, rice, sugar, palm oil and different oils, soya beans, sardine and mackerels, and Tombrown.

Addressing JoyNews, the Public Relations official of the Ministry of Education, Kwasi Kwarteng surrendered that there had been difficulties with the stock of food to schools as of late.

He, notwithstanding, noticed that following the mediation of the Education Minister, schools in the district would start getting supplies beginning tomorrow, July 12.

"There have been reports of food deficiencies and potential food deficiencies in the vast majority of the schools. I mean assuming you read the presser that was delivered by CHASS Upper west part, obviously, they refered to a potential food lack, and in light of that the Minister of Education has needed to act and mediate and as I talk with you game plans have been had for providers to supply food to deflect potential food deficiency inside the locale and a few schools that might have that difficulties.

"So yes we really do concede there could be difficulties however that doesn't mean it fundamentally has to do with postpones in installments, now and again it might have to do with calculated limitations like storage spaces. However, we truly do concede this has more to do with the postponements of the installment than the providers not having the power or the ability to supply," he said.
