Liverpool transfer news: Jude Bellingham update as Reds'reject' midfielder offers
The Reds have begun their pre-season tour of Asia, but that doesn't mean that any transfer activity has ceased at Anfield, with numerous rumours still circulating.
Liverpool's pre-season campaign has officially begun, with the Reds flying out to Thailand over the weekend to begin their summer training camp, with new signings Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho involved and ready to make their debuts for the club.
Off the field, however, there are many changes taking place, and the Reds said goodbye to Neco Williams on Monday after the right back agreed to join Nottingham Forest. In other news, the Reds have'rejected' any bids for one of their midfielders, while Jude Bellingham's future has been clarified.
After losing Erling Haaland to Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund have made it clear that Jude Bellingham is not for sale this summer, but Liverpool remain strongly linked with a move for the England international, with a transfer expected next summer.
And, according to The Athletic, Bellingham is now a'serious option' for Jurgen Klopp in 2023, as he looks to sign a genuine world class midfielder to bolster his ranks in that position after sticking with his current options this season.
The Reds currently have Fabinho, Thiago, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Harvey Elliott in midfield, while Fabio Carvalho joined this summer and can also play there.
All bids for midfielder have been rejected by the Reds.
Even as Liverpool are unlikely to sign any midfielders this summer, they are keen to avoid any departures, according to The Times, who claim that the Reds have rejected all bids for youngster Harvey Elliott.
The 19-year-old has received a number of loan offers, but Jurgen Klopp is determined to keep him in and around the first team this summer. Some of the clubs in question are fellow Premier League rivals, but Elliott is set to stay at Anfield.
The midfielder had a successful loan spell at Championship side Blackburn Rovers in 2020/21, scoring seven goals and assisting 11 times in 43 games across all competitions before returning to Liverpool last season.
Liverpool were heavily linked with AS Monaco's Aurelien Tchouameni this summer before he chose to join Real Madrid instead, but the Reds are now being tipped to sign a player who has been dubbed the "next Aurelien Tchouameni."
According to Get French Football News, Lille's Amadou Onana is of interest to the Reds and has been dubbed the "next Tchouameni" for his midfield performances in Ligue 1 last season.
The Reds are expected to 'watch' the 20-year-old, who has already been capped by Belgium and made 41 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
