Jurgen Klopp explains Liverpool's potential to close a record-breaking deal for midfielder Jude Bellingham despite the player's "major issue"
Due to the "sole concern" with the midfielder, Jurgen Klopp has ruled out Liverpool signing Jude Bellingham this summer while justifying his current choices.
After signing Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho, and Calvin Ramsay, Liverpool is said to have concluded their summer transfer business. Some believe they still require a third midfielder, but they are content to wait.
Next year, it's expected that they'll consider Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund. In his position, the England international is among the most promising players in the world.
Klopp, though, has disqualified any possibility of Liverpool delaying their pursuit of Bellingham until this summer.
He's not on the market, so that's the first issue with that guy, the Liverpool manager told reporters. The main issue with that player, obviously!
Bellingham's contract runs until 2025, so he is currently ruled out, but Liverpool can still pursue other players in the interim. However, Klopp does not believe that signing another midfielder at this time makes much sense.
When asked if Liverpool would try to acquire a center, he responded, "No, I can say that.
