Jurgen Klopp explains Liverpool's potential to close a record-breaking deal for midfielder Jude Bellingham despite the player's "major issue"
Due to the "sole concern" with the midfielder, Jurgen Klopp has ruled out Liverpool signing Jude Bellingham this summer while justifying his current choices.
After signing Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho, and Calvin Ramsay, Liverpool is said to have concluded their summer transfer business. Some believe they still require a third midfielder, but they are content to wait.
Next year, it's expected that they'll consider Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund. In his position, the England international is among the most promising players in the world.
Klopp, though, has disqualified any possibility of Liverpool delaying their pursuit of Bellingham until this summer.
He's not on the market, so that's the first issue with that guy, the Liverpool manager told reporters. The main issue with that player, obviously!
Bellingham's contract runs until 2025, so he is currently ruled out, but Liverpool can still pursue other players in the interim. However, Klopp does not believe that signing another midfielder at this time makes much sense.
When asked if Liverpool would try to acquire a center, he responded, "No, I can say that.
Although I don't anticipate anything happening in midfield, you never know. If someone approaches you and declares, "I want to go," Nobody has yet contacted me, although but if that happens then we have to talk new. But if the situation stays like it is, then tell me why?
“I don’t understand. I do not understand. People told me about this discussion, but the last thing that would have crossed my mind is that we have to do this.
“I know all these things, that we don’t score enough goals from midfield, this and that, but what do we want? This ‘Golden Cow’ that is producing absolutely everything, milk as well!
"We can handle it. Where would you like to begin? Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago, Milner, Keita, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Fabio Carvalho, and Oxlade-Chamberlain are the following. Please describe the type of player we are missing. a 1.95m offensive player that enters the box to head balls in? Okay, other from that! Three of our players—Fabinho, of course, but Hendo and Milly also did well—can play as a No.6 with ease. Creativity? If we sign a player specifically for that purpose, Harvey, Curtis, and Fabio will already face increased difficulty. Of course, they can all play a variety of positions; Curtis can play a line higher while Harvey and Fabio can also play there. Fine. We can play a different system as well, where we might only need two midfielders, but then all these guys can play as a No.10 in the new system
