One of the new areas established in 2018 is the North East Region, which is seeing rapid infrastructure development.
They consist of four industries, four road projects with bitumen surfacing, a better water supply, and educational facilities.
Many of the projects located in each of the region's six municipal and district assemblies have already been finished, while others are still in different stages of completion.
Yidana Zakaria, the North East Regional Minister, encouraged companies to think about making investments in the region because it is blessed with a wealth of natural resources in an exclusive interview with the Daily Graphic.
He said that the government's fulfilment of its pledge to establish the new administrative region had sped up equitable development in the region.
The regional minister said that the administration was working hard to bring sweeping improvement to the local populace. The regional minister stated that throughout the previous four years, several initiatives had been taken to advance the region's infrastructural development and serve the needs of the populace.
"As far as development is concerned, we have achieved extremely considerable progress. One is that government has been brought closer to the people, and so reaching out to officials at the regional level in terms of convenience and travel time is something that our people find extremely interesting, according to Mr. Zakaria.
He said that the President's plan for a new paradigm of development, in which crucial offices were dispersed among numerous districts rather than concentrated in the regional capital so that the influence could be seen by the people, was likewise on track.
creating jobs
Regarding the government's one district, one factory (1D1F) strategy, the regional minister stated that two projects were either finished or were close to being finished.
The Gbimsi and Tamanaa rice processing factories were completed, while construction on the Walewale watermelon juice factory and a waste treatment facility was slowly continuing.
According to him, the initiatives are anticipated to increase all facets of the local economy in the new region while providing work for the area's teeming young.
He gave the example of the watermelon juice plant, which was roughly 80% finished and anticipated to employ around 3,000 people directly and indirectly once operations began.
On the other side, the rice processing business, which had begun operations, was grinding roughly 290 tonnes of rice every day, according to Mr. Zakaria.

In the West Mamprusi, East Mamprusi, Savelugu, Nanton, and Mamprugu-Moagduri districts, it employs around 4,000 rice growers and aggregators.
The shea processing facility, which was being built at Gbimsi near Walewale and was started by the vice president's wife, Samira Bawumia, under the auspices of her Samira Empowerment Foundation with assistance from the Ghana Exim Bank, was almost 90% complete.
Thousands of tonnes of trash generated in the area will be converted into valuable goods like organic fertiliser thanks to the development of the Zoomlion Ghana Limited Waste Treatment Plant, which is being done in conjunction with the government.
