NAGRAT, GNAT leave talks; Teachers still protesting
Delegates of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) and the National Graduate Association of Teachers (NAGRAT) have left the discussion with the public authority over their interest for Cost of Living Allowance (COLA).
The two affiliations blamed government for disloyalty of trust for requesting that they cancel their strike before talks.
"By demonstrating and requesting that we cancel our strike before dealings start, what it implies is that the public authority side isn't prepared to proceed with exchanges except if the educator associations cancel the strike. They have kept all coordinated work prisoner, this is a selling out of trust.
"This moment since we are unwanted, before they even walk us out of the gathering, we are leaving the gathering ourselves," NAGRAT President, Angel Carbonu told the media on Tuesday.

In the interim, the present gathering has been concluded endlessly.
As per the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, Bright Wereko-Brobbey, the intermission was because of the refusal of some worker's organizations to cancel their strike before exchanges initiate.
"We have needed to conclude the gathering in light of the fact that the two players; work and government imagine that we can't do this while a party is protesting, so the understanding is that we are heading out to converse with one another. They cancel the strike and we come back again to meet," he told Joy News.
The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta and the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, Bright Wereko-Brobbey along with other government authorities were available at the gathering.
He noticed that the gathering will be reconvened over the week for exchanges to proceed.
This is the second time talks between the educator associations and the public authority have finished uncertainly. The educators have been protesting since last Tuesday.
