Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho made their Liverpool debuts in the 4-0 loss to Manchester United, but one player wasn't totally pleased with the situation.
In Tuesday's devastating 4-0 preseason friendly loss to Manchester United, Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho each made their debuts for Liverpool.
In a fast-paced first half at the Rajamangala Stadium in Thailand, Jadon Sancho, Fred, and Anthony Martial scored goals. Facundo Pellistri then sealed victory in the Bangkok Century Cup. Reds supporters had the chance to witness their high-profile summer acquisitions in action for the first time.
Both players were used in roles that were a little foreign to them, and both nearly scored goals for their new team. But after the loss, Carvalho acknowledged that his debut for Liverpool had been "not nice."
Additionally, Jurgen Klopp's risky decision to give several young talents playing time did not succeed.

Several Liverpool players made their debuts against Manchester United, including Fabio Carvalho.
debuts by new celebrities
The most well-known summer additions to Liverpool made their debuts for the team as Fabio Carvalho and Darwin Nunez played crucial preseason minutes against Manchester United.
Carvalho excelled at Fulham, primarily playing as a ten in a 4-2-3-1, but he switched to the no. 8 position versus United. For his new team, Carvalho got off to a strong start, and in the 16th minute, he was unlucky not to score when he struck the inside of the post. Nunez was used as Liverpool's No. 9 because he provided a radically different focal point for teammate Roberto Firmino, a forward for the Reds.
With four minutes left, Nunez had a fantastic opportunity to score for the Reds when the ball fell at his feet from seven yards out, but he missed the target by a wide margin.
Carvalho acknowledges his "not great" debut
After his new team was humiliated by Manchester United, Fabio Carvalho said his Liverpool debut was "not nice."
In Bangkok, the Reds suffered a crushing 4-0 loss, and Carvalho made his debut for his new team on the field. Even while it was obviously a momentous occasion for Carvalho, he acknowledged being unhappy with how things turned out.
Carvalho acknowledged that it had been "bittersweet," adding that "being beat is not nice."However, he believes he'll now go into the next game being "confident I'll score," which offers an intriguing glimpse into the new Liverpool player's mindset.
Klopp's wager is unsuccessful.
After his tactical risk against Manchester United didn't pay off, Jurgen Klopp ended Tuesday as one of Liverpool's biggest losers.
A number of young Reds players were given opportunities to shine, including Melkamu Frauendorf, Fabio Carvalho, Thomas Hill, Leighton Clarkson, James Norris, and Isaac Mabaya. Klopp could have made the wrong call, though, as the Reds finished the day with a 4-0 loss.
Joe Gomez, who had fallen down the pecking order at Anfield, also missed his chance to capitalize, but Colombian forward Luis Diaz demonstrated that he is prepared to build on the strong start he has already made for the team.
