Tottenham lead trainer Antonio Conte has said he contradicts the dad of Son Heung-min over the forward's status as "world-class".
Son's father says last season's Premier League Golden Boot champ has still not done what's necessary to be considered among the top players on the planet and should do "10% more" and "assume a strong part in one of the world's top clubs" to be thought of "elite".
Son Woong-jong's comments have ignited banter in South Korea, where the forward is the star fascination of the Spurs' pre-season visit.
However, inquired as to whether he thinks about Son as "elite", Conte was in no question that the 29-year-old could star for any team on the planet.
"Each time I had the delight to talk about him I can tell just certain things since we are discussing an elite player," Conte told correspondents at a public interview in Seoul, where Spurs face a K-League XI tomorrow.
"He is quite possibly of the best player, and I think perhaps many individuals misjudged him. Sonny can play in any team on the planet. He understands my viewpoints about him.
"We are extremely fortunate he remains with us and I'm exceptionally fortunate to have him on my team. It's a delight when you have a player like him. He's dependably cheerfully and you can see during the instructional courses, consistently has an incredible demeanor, and extraordinary responsibility.
"He is top class, has incredible quality, right foot, left foot, he runs a great deal. I believe it's undeniably challenging to request more from your player. For sure we are discussing an elite player, truly outstanding on the planet."
Son is now the face of South Korea's football as he marks his name in their hall of fame after winning the EPL golden boot and sacrificing himself as the best Asian player right now.
