Ranking Staff Association of Universities of Ghana to proclaim strike today
The Senior Staff Association of the Universities of Ghana (SSAUoG) has communicated its aim to leave on an endless strike, viable today, July 13.
The gathering contains authoritative staff at the different colleges in Ghana.
Addressing Accra-put together 3FM with respect to Wednesday, a legal administrator of the Association, James Maluna Banoeng said the Association will officially report its strike at a public interview sometime in the afternoon.
The question and answer session will happen at the fundamental door of the University of Ghana, Legon.
"We will proclaim the strike at 10 am today at the University of Ghana primary door, and we are stretching out greeting to all media houses. I would rather not let the feline out of the pail. There is a public director who will be giving the declaration", Mr. Benoeng said.
The notice by the Association adds to the common turmoil on the work front.
Right now, the Teachers and Education Workers Union (TEWU), the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT) have set out their devices, over the disappointment of government to pay them 20% of their fundamental pay rates as Cost of Living Allowance (COLA).
Concerning advancement, delegates of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) and the National Graduate Association of Teachers (NAGRAT) left the discussion with the public authority over their interest for COLA.
The two affiliations blamed government for treachery of trust for requesting that they cancel their strike before talks.
"By showing and requesting that we cancel our strike before dealings start, what it implies is that the public authority side isn't prepared to proceed with talks except if the educator associations cancel the strike. They have kept all coordinated work prisoner, this is a treachery of trust.
"This moment since we are unwanted, before they even walk us out of the gathering, we are leaving the gathering ourselves", NAGRAT President, Angel Carbonu told the media on Tuesday.

In the mean time, the said gathering has been concluded endlessly.
As per the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, Bright Wereko-Brobbey, the deferment was because of the refusal of some worker's guilds to cancel their strike before dealings begin.
"We have needed to conclude the gathering on the grounds that the two players; work and government believe that we can't do this while a party is protesting, so the understanding is that we are heading out to converse with one another. They cancel the strike and we come back again to meet", he told Joy News.
The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, and the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, Bright Wereko-Brobbey, along with other government authorities, were available at the gathering.
He noticed that the gathering would be reconvened over the week for talks to proceed.
This is the second time discussions between the instructor associations and the public authority have finished uncertainly. The instructors have been protesting since last Tuesday.
