Nana Wirecko Ampen, the head of the Ekuona family in Sefwi Bekwai in the Western North Region, lamented the untimely passing of Alfred Amoah, his niece and the CEO of the Bibiani Anwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly.

The late MCE was described as the "light of the family" by Nana Wirecko Ampem in an interview with Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson on Connect FM's Omanbapa.

"A magnificent guy has been lost by the whole Bibiani and Bekwai communities. He was our family's source of brightness. He contacted me yesterday to let me know that he was in Accra for a meeting. The NPP Party Chairman contacted me while I was there in the evening to let me know that my niece had been in an accident and had passed away.

According to Nana Wirecko Ampem, he was originally reluctant to tell his mother, who is in her sixties, the news.

"I transported her to a different location and moved to his mother's house to avoid the shock she would have upon hearing the news. But we told her this morning, and she's upset," he said.

He continues by saying that the family will shortly meet with local New Patriotic Party leaders to make the required funeral arrangements. We are setting up a meeting to decide on the burial preparations since he belonged to our family but was also a member of the NPP, he continued.

Appiah Kubi, the area chairman of the New Patriotic Party, said that Samuel Gyasi, the driver who perished in the accident along with the MCE, is yet another loss for the party.

He has years of driving experience. I frequently travelled with him and the late MCE, but I have to admit that what transpired was regrettable. He said, "We have informed his family of his demise.

According to the Western North correspondent for Connect FM, the late MCE was survived by his wife and a daughter who is now 18 years old.
