Kamaldeen Sulemana is one of five nominees for the CAF Young Player of the Year (Men) award.The Ghanaian international has been shortlisted again among the top young players for the Confederation of African Football(CAF) award on 21 July 2022 in Rabat, Morocco.
The initial ten young players shortlist were Dango Ouattara (Burkina Faso & Lorient), Karim Konate (Cote d’Ivoire & ASEC/RB Salzburg), Jesus Owono (Equatorial Guinea & Alaves), James Gomez (The Gambia & AC Horsens), Ilaix Moriba Kourouma (Guinea & Valencia), El Bilal Toure (Mali & Reims), Akinkunmi Amoo (Nigeria & FC Copenhagen), Pape Matar Sarr (Senegal & Metz), and Hannibal Mejbri (Tunisia & Manchester United).
CAF this morning publish a star-studded final five list of the young player nominees for the continental awards,The Top 5 African Player of the yearr(Men) nominees are Dango Ouattara(Burkina Faso & Lorient), Karim Konate(Cote d'Ivoire & ASEC &RB Salzburg), Kamaldeen Sulemana (Ghana & Rennes), Pape Matar Sarr (Senegal & Metz) and Hannibal Mejbri (Tunisia & Manchester United)
The awards cover a plethora of categories including CAF African Player of the Year, CAF Coach of the year and the Women Categories as well.
Kamaldeen 20, who is from techiman favourite position is the left-winger even though he is a right-footer, He signed for Stade Rennais FC in 2021 in a five-year deal.
The Ghanaian is currently ranked in the top ten U23 players in Europe’s top leagues by CIES Football Observatory.
His market value of 33.8m make makes him one of the most expensive U-23 players in the top 5 leagues in Europe
He made 20 appearances for Stade Rennes last season scoring four goals and making two assists, He was part of the Ghana Black Stars that have qualified for the FIFA World cup in Qatar.
