'KOMENDA SUGAR CREATION LINE NOT A KNICKKNACK; TO BE USEFUL SOON' - GOVERNMENT

The Deputy Minister of Trade, Michael Okyere Baafi has excused claims that organization has abandoned the Komenda sugar plant presented by past President John Mahama.

Chatting on Face to Face on Citi TV , the New Juaben South Member of Parliament said: "That we are not conveying sugar doesn't mean there is nothing happening. It's everything except a knickknack. Expecting you go there now, you will see workers on the ground."

He got a handle on that organization has expected to contribute a lot of time and resources into re-trying the workplace, "past President Mahama abandoned."

"We [the NPP] came to meet a modern office that was not totally tooled, one without estate to go about as raw substance to help the plant with making due. One that didn't have people to run it. There were a lot of things that expected fixing. By God's polish, we are done with them."

He exhibited that organization is working constant to ensure that the workplace is totally useful toward July's end.

"As I speak, CBG is working with the Ministry of Trade and Industry as well as the experts for the assembling plant. We really want to at first buy sugar stick from the farmers."

The Komenda Sugar Factory was worked at a cost of $35 million from an Indian EXIM Bank office.

It was started by then-President John Mahama in May 2016, but ended assignments not long later.

The creation line should use 7,300 people along the value chain, supporting work prospects in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem area.

President Akufo-Addo had offered hints that the Komenda Sugar Factory would be totally operationalised in April 2022.

By then, he said there were a couple of normal works advancing at the modern office site, and that close to the completion of March 2022, that large number of activities would be done to clear way for creation.

A Ghanaian-Indian association, Park Agrotech Ghana Limited, is the new monetary patron who will take command over the undertakings of the creation line.

The public expert in 2019 said the association should implant $28 million into the creation line some place in the scope of 2020 and 2023.

$11 million was to go into sugarcane improvement; $6 million to redesign plant and equipment, and $11 million as working financing to invite the powerless modern office in a decent spot once more.
