Milan Skriniar, a defender for Inter Milan, reportedly turned down a summer transfer to Chelsea and chose to sign a permanent contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The San Siro has been widely connected with a move away for Skriniar, who is in the final year of his current contract. He has assisted Inter Milan in winning three trophies, including the Serie A championship in the 2020–21 season. He is a strong tackler and a strong center-back.
Skriniar, who was initially torn between joining Chelsea and joining PSG this summer, has reportedly decided on PSG, according to L'Equipe.
The source went on to say that PSG and Inter Milan are anticipated to finalise a deal worth up to €65 million, including bonuses.
The Serie A team's initial asking price for the Slovakian was €80 million, but following a meeting with PSG on July 12, the club decreased its demands. Before their preseason tour of Japan later this week, the Ligue 1 champions hope to seal the deal. Skriniar played for the Nerazzurri in 48 games for all competitions in 2021–22, scoring four goals in the process. Additionally, he assisted his team's 18 shutouts in the previous season.
For a fee of €20 million, Skriniar moved from Sampdoria to Inter Milan in the summer of 2017. He has made 217 total appearances for the Serie A team, contributing four assists and 11 goals in the process.
Presnel Kimpembe of PSG is a target for Chelsea.
After losing Andreas Christensen to Barcelona last summer and Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid this spring, Chelsea is currently searching for two center-backs.
The Blues are anticipated to finalise a €40 million move for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly in the near future, claims transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. According to reports, the 31-year-old has agreed to a net compensation of €10 million year.
Presnel Kimpembe of PSG is currently the subject of a report by journalist Christian Falk that Chelsea is interested in acquiring him as their second center-back. The 26-year-current old's contract at Parc des Princes has two years remaining on it. He previously played for two seasons under Thomas Tuchel, the head coach of the Blues. As they prepare for the 2022–23 season, the Blues are also keeping an eye on Nathan Ake of Manchester City. Romano claims that the 27-year-old has reached a personal agreement with his old team and is nearing a €48.5 million contract.
According to The Telegraph, the west London team has also been connected with Sevilla center-back Jules Kounde and Juventus veteran Matthijs de Ligt.
