Not all football players meet the standards set by teams and supporters after they join with them. The top 20 worst transfers in football history are listed below in light of this.

1. Antoine Griezmann: In 2021, for a cost of €120 million, the French professional footballer left Atletico Madrid for Barcelona, but he struggled to find his form there.

2. Eden Hazard: After years of outstanding play at Stamford Bridge, Eden Hazard joined Real Madrid from Chelsea in 2019 for a cost of €100 million. He has participated in 48 La Liga games since joining Real Madrid, however he has only scored four goals throughout that time. Since he joined Real Madrid, injuries have prevented him from making progress.

3. Philippe Coutinho: After moving from Liverpool to Barcelona in 2018, the talented Brazilian winger struggled to make an impression. The Barcelona winger was a shell of the player he once was from 2018 to 2022.

Romelu Lukaku is the fourth worst acquisition in football history. He is a Belgian professional football player. He transferred from Inter Milan to Chelsea during the summer of 2021, however he fell short of the club's and the supporters' hopes. He participated in 44 games, but only managed to score 15 goals. However, because of his subpar performances in the 2021/22 season, he was loaned out to Inter Milan.

OFFICIAL: Chelsea Beat EPL Rivals In Signing A Top Player

After more than a month since the transfer window opened in June, Chelsea has finally completed their first formal signing.

Raheem Sterling, an English winger, has been acquired by the two-time UEFA Champions League champions from rival Manchester City in a deal estimated to be worth £47.5 million. The five-year contract for the England international includes a one-year extension option.

The 27-year-old winger, who has his sights set on winning the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea, will now become Chelsea's highest paid player with a salary worth more than £300,000 a week.

The Evening Standard claims that Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and even Chelsea's archrival Liverpool were all interested in signing Raheem Sterling, but Chelsea ultimately prevailed thanks to head coach Thomas Tuchel's personal pitch.

In his seven years at City, Sterling has made 339 appearances, scored 131 goals, and helped the club win four Premier League championships, one FA Cup, and three League Cups.
