Thursday's press conference, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag provided an update on Harry Maguire ahead of Friday's game against Melbourne Victory.

The clash with the A-League side, which you can watch live on MUTV, the United App and ManUtd.com is United's second test of Tour 2022, following the marvellous 4-0 victory over Liverpool in Bangkok on Tuesday.

Captain and centre-back Maguire missed that game due to a knock, with Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Alex Telles all getting minutes in central defence instead.

Maguire trained with the rest of the group during our first Melbourne session at AAMI Park after landing on Wednesday and Ten Hag confirmed he is in contention to return, potentially for 45 minutes.

“He is tomorrow available,” said Erik. “We will see [how long for]. I think he can play half a game.”

United gave minutes to 22 of the squad in the win over Jurgen Klopp's side and the Victory fixture could be a good opportunity for the unused substitutes from that game to play, with youngsters like Ethan Laird, Hannibal and Alejandro Garnacho no doubt chomping at the bit to prove themselves on this trip.
