Romano says Leeds have made £25.8m offer for Charles De Ketelaere
Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Leeds United are offering more than £25.8 million plus add-ons for Charles De Ketelaere as they look to beat AC Milan to the Belgian’s signature. The Whites are not waiting around in this window. They have already brought in a number of signings. And they look to be closing in on two more in the form of Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra. Photo by Jeroen Meuwsen/Orange Pictures/BSR Agency/Getty Images But there is still a sense that they need to bolster their forward ranks. And it seems that De Ketelaere is their top target for that role. Previous reports have claimed that Leeds are prepared to meet Club Bruges’ £34.4 million asking price for the 21-year-old. However, they face plenty of competition. Photo by Robbie Jay Barratt – AMA/Getty Images Leicester want the Belgium international. Meanwhile, Romano has claimed on Twitter that AC Milan have made an opening bid of £17.2 million. But it seems that Leeds may be making the biggest play for the youngster right now. Romano added in the same post that Jesse Marsch’s men are already offering to make De Ketelaere one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history… After finishing 17th last season, many would probably be tempted to tip Leeds for relegation with one of their best players leaving and another potentially on his way. But the Whites have already made four positive signings and could soon have six through the door. Signing De Ketelaere would be a serious statement of intent. He is one of the most talented young forwards around. The Italian champions would not be chasing him otherwise. It is going to be difficult to beat Milan to his signature. But Leeds are clearly giving it a good shot right now. Have something to tell us about this article?
Report: De Ketelaere has basically excluded Leeds from race to sign him
Charles De Ketelaere has basically excluded Leeds United from the race for his signature despite the Whites making a bid worth up to £30 million for the Club Brugge forward, according to a report from HLN. The Whites look to be closing in on their next two signings. Tyler Adams is in England ahead of his switch from RB Leipzig. Meanwhile, a deal for Luis Sinisterra has been agreed. Photo by Robbie Jay Barratt – AMA/Getty Images And it seems that signing De Ketelaere was Leeds’ final objective for this window. The Belgian is one of the most exciting forward prospects around right now. Fabrizio Romano reported this week that Leeds were offering £25.8 million plus add-ons for the 21-year-old. And that was considerably more than what AC Milan had put on the table. Photo by Joris Verwijst/BSR Agency/Getty Images And reports on Wednesday claimed that the Rossoneri were unlikely to break the bank for De Ketelaere. With Club Brugge more than happy to keep the youngster, it seemed that a move to San Siro may be off the cards. However, a move to Elland Road appears to now be even less likely. HLN reports that Club Brugge have received a bid worth up to £30 million for De Ketelaere from Leeds. But he is not interested in joining Jesse Marsch’s side. He is convinced about heading to Milan. And with that, Leeds have been basically excluded from the race. A deal is not impossible. But he does not want to join the Whites right now. It would be a real blow for Leeds to miss out on De Ketelaere when they are the side seemingly setting the pace in the race for his signature. Marsch needs another forward option after Patrick Bamford endured such a difficult season with injury. And signing De Ketelaere would be a massive statement. Of course, much can change rapidly during a transfer window. Leeds seemingly need that to now be the case. Have something to tell us about this article?
