A Saudi Arabian club has made a massive offer to sign the star from Manchester United, according to TVI and CNN Portuguesa.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked to a number of European clubs since this newspaper reported about his intention to leave Manchester United: Barcelona, Chelsea, Naples, Bayern, Roma
None of these teams, however, was able to put together a proposal for the striker that was as significant as the one that has recently arrived from Saudi Arabia. The Portuguese player has reportedly been offered 300 million euros ($300 million; the euro has weakened to parity with the dollar) to play for two seasons in Saudi Arabia, according to TVI and CNN Portuguesa.
A team from an unnamed Middle Eastern nation is reportedly making Cristiano Ronaldo the biggest deal in soccer history in an effort to win him over. The offer's 300 million euros would be split as follows: For Manchester United, the player's transfer cost was 30 million, which was split into two seasons' worth of payments, with the remaining 20 million going to middlemen.
Not only would the deal make him the highest-paid footballer on the planet, it would also see him earning more than Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar (currently the three highest-paid players in the world) combined!
Ronaldo however wants one or two more seasons in the European League in order to play the champions League and win the balon d'Or once again
Cristiano Ronaldo is still thinking of playing at least one more season in the European elite, meaning he is not considering accepting the eye-watering proposal. With the World Cup in Qatar just around the corner, the Portuguese star is still confident that one of the big European clubs that have sounded him out will end up presenting a firm offer.
Despite the fact that new Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag insisted that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner isn't for sale during his first pre-season press conference on Sunday, Ronaldo has been absent from the club's pre-season tour thus far and remains on indefinite leave due to 'personal reasons'.
