So much for Singapore not having the same level of fervor for Liverpool as Thailand.

After the Reds were whisked away through a private terminal upon their arrival at the airport on Wednesday, there was a sense that the locals were more blasé about their stay.

It didn't take long for her to be expelled.

When the ECHO arrived at the team hotel in Singapore on Thursday, the outside lobby of the Ritz-Carlton was packed with local Liverpool fans eager to see their heroes.

They were not disappointed as the Reds players exited the establishment before boarding the team bus for a training session at the Singapore National Stadium.

Certain players, such as Mohamed Salah, were applauded more loudly than others. The biggest, however, was reserved for Jurgen Klopp, much to the Reds manager's chagrin.

"I notice that when I step out of the hotel, the noise changes slightly, and it's nice, to be honest," Klopp said during the pre-match press conference. "It's like that in this business because you're the manager of a really good football team and my face is probably more often on the camera than other faces, and I don't run while the camera is on me so people can really recognize me." That's all. It's nice, but it was never my intention for this to happen.

The Liverpool squad was whisked away to the plush Marina Bay Sands hotel for a meal in the SkyPark Observation Deck shortly after their arrival in Singapore on Wednesday evening.

The ECHO is staying somewhere less upscale, where the room has no windows and the shower and toilet are so close that the former risks drenching the latter when in use. In any case, it appears to work.

Liverpool players were put through their paces at the National Stadium on Thursday evening in front of nearly 10,000 fans in an open training session.

Following that, many Liverpool representatives were taken aback by the sheer length of the mixed zone area, which is where gathered journalists try to get a few words with a player or two.

It wasn't quite as vexing as earlier in the day, when former Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique was constantly referred to as 'Luis' throughout an event at the British High Commission, in mistaken reference to the former Real Madrid and Barcelona favorite.

Finally, the Reds have added a new member to their backroom staff with the addition of Frigyes Vanden Auweele as the club's new head of osteopathy. The Belgian has previously worked with athletes in football as well as other sports such as athletics and cycling.

With no other prominent Vanden Auweeles, the new man is unlikely to be confused with anyone else.
