Community Day SHS student dies in motor accident.

A 17-year-old student of Apersua Community Day Senior High School near Nkurakan in the Yilo Krobo Municipality in the Eastern region has died in a motorbike accident.

The accident occurred on Thursday morning July 14, 2022.

 

The deceased Amissah Bright, a first-year General Arts student was pronounced dead on arrival at the Eastern Regional Hospital.

 

Information gathered by Kasapa News indicates that the deceased and his mate Ayer Theophilus, a Visual Arts student currently on admission at the same hospital were on a commercial motorbike to school.

 

However, according to the rider Eliasu Baakie, the motorbike crashed into a bumpy portion of the Nkurakan to Huhunya road which is under construction right in front of the School and as a result lost control of the steering wheel and crashed.

 

The pillion riders (students) sustained serious injuries while the rider sustained a minor injury.

The students were rushed to the Eastern Regional Hospital Hospital while the rider was sent to a health center in the community.

 

Unfortunately, Amissah Bright was pronounced dead while Ayer Theophilus is responding to treatment.

 

One of their mates, Doku Martin, who accompanied them to the hospital out of shock collapsed but regained consciousness.

 

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Nkurakan chapter of the Ghana National Association of Teachers, GNAT, Emmanuel Dzramado, and officials of the Ghana Education Service in the Regional Directorate visited the victims at the hospital.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has declared four Assembly members of the Bosome Freho District wanted in connection with a July 13, 2022 rioting at Asiwa.

The four wanted Assembly members are allegedly involved in a riot that resulted in the destruction of some properties in the Bosome Freho District Assembly.

 

The riots resulted from an Assembly meeting to pass a ‘no confidence vote’ against the Bosome Freho District Chief Executive (DCE) Yaw Danso. The meeting on Wednesday, July 13 turned chaotic.

 

Some heavily built men who are allegedly supporters of the DCE, Yaw Danso reportedly stormed the ongoing meeting at the Assembly’s Conference Hall to communicate a court order to halt the process.

 

A viral video sighted captured some unknown persons throwing plastic chairs and smashing the glass windows.

 

The Assembly members are sharply divided over the current fate of Yaw Danso after he was accused of not pushing for development in the district.

 

A press release signed by the Public Affairs Officer of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, has advised the said wanted Assembly members to report with immediate effect to the regional police headquarters.
