A Cape Coast Circuit Court has sentenced a 46-year-old electrician, Ebenezer Gyandoh, to five years imprisonment for inserting his fingers into his neighbor’s two-year-old daughter’s vagina several times.

Charged with indecent assault, Gyandoh pleaded not guilty but was found guilty by the court presided over by Mrs. Dorinda Smith Arthur.

Prosecuting, Inspector John Asare Bediako said Madam Esi Hyebre, mother of the girl was the complainant and lived in the same house as Gyandoh.

He said at about 0800 hours on Thursday, May 5 this year, the victim was sent by her mother to buy food from the roadside, where Gyandoh met her and bought her a drink.

With the drink in her hand, the prosecutor said Gyandoh took her to his room but Madam Hyebre, who saw them together, waited for a while for her daughter and went knocking on Gyandoh’s door.

According to the prosecutor, Gyandoh refused to open the door, compelling the complainant to push the door open.

The Complainant saw her daughter laying on the bed of the accused with her pantie removed to her knee level, she questioned the victim, who told her ordeal to her mother, while Gyandoh rushed out.

Gyandoh was arrested the same day after the complainant formally complained to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU in Cape Coast.

A police medical form was issued and the girl was sent to the hospital to seek medical care.

An alleged victim of disgraced singer R. Kelly says she is engaged to the R&B star in a letter to a judge dated before his 30-year sentence in federal prison for sex trafficking.

‘My name is Joycelyn Savage, and I’m Robert Kelly’s fianće,’ Savage wrote in a letter to Judge Ann Donnelly. ‘I’m writing this letter in support of Robert in advance of his sentencing, so I can explain to the court that I’m not the victim that the government has portrayed me to be.’

The letter by Savage was dated June 13 as she thoroughly describes Kelly as being ‘an all-around incredible person’ and ‘not the monster that the government has described him to be.’
