A lady who is accused of killing her husband by stabbing him to death in a pub in Homa Bay county, Kenya, has been detained by police.
After murdering her 31-year-old husband, Charles Okoth Onyango, the suspect, Cyndy Trinic, was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon, July 13. Onyango worked for the Homa Bay county administration. After receiving a critical chest injury, he passed away on the spot.
Witnesses said that the deceased proceeded to the pub along Homa Bay-Kendu Bay Road and placed an order for drinks. Before she began drinking as well, a woman later joined him at his corner seat where he was sitting alone. It was revealed to be his wife.
They got into an altercation when they were both drinking. The suspect is said to have been requesting Onyango's cellphone. She was going to read the texts the dead had been getting. Onyango, however, is said to have started criticising the suspect for interrogating him and refused to let go of the phone.
The couple's easy talk quickly devolved into an argument that drew the attention of other individuals who weren't interested in hearing it.
Chief Joshua Ochogo of the Homa Bay town site, who verified the occurrence, claimed the pair was acting intoxicated. He declared, "They were intoxicated, and alcohol was in charge of their behaviour.
The woman pulled out a knife at the height of the fight and stabbed Onyango in the chest.
She looked to have been ready to kill and had the knife in her handbag. Before the victim fell and passed away, according to Mr. Ochogo, the suspect stabbed him once. Sammy Koskeyi, the commander of the Homa Bay Sub county police, stated that the event is still being investigated.
He stated, "The suspect is in jail while authorities investigate what caused their argument. The deceased's body was sent to the morgue of Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital.
