Marietou Thiam's slim figure winds and spins, suspended in mid-air by a circle, under the entranced look of spectators at Dakar's very first bazaar celebration.
Thiam is the creative chief - - and one of just two ladies individuals - - of Sencirk, Senegal's head bazaar company, which coordinated the celebration.
The 29-year-old initially moved to Dakar for her examinations, yet abandoned that life to join the carnival.
