Marietou Thiam's slim figure contorts and spins, suspended in mid-air by a loop, under the enchanted look of spectators at Dakar's very first bazaar celebration.
Thiam is the imaginative chief - - and one of just two ladies individuals - - of Sencirk, Senegal's head carnival group, which coordinated the celebration.
The 29-year-old previously moved to Dakar for her investigations, yet abandoned that life to join the bazaar.
