According to Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, Parliament is aiming to establish a museum and an archival department so that it may conserve and make legislative artefacts available to the public.

This was expressed by Speaker Bagbin after receiving 300 copies of a book on supply chain applications from its author, Professor Douglas Boateng.

The Rt. Hon. speaker lamented that youth reading habits are at an all-time low.

He cited Ghanaian professors who had formerly stood side by side with global leaders and claimed that this was only possible because they took their pursuit of knowledge extremely seriously.

Speaker Bagbin asked lawmakers to read more in order to increase their familiarity with contemporary political issues and parliamentary procedures.

Ahmed Ibrahim, the deputy minority chief whip, underlined the necessity of digitalizing libraries in the nation to keep up with international standards.

According to him, the fact that the majority of the most recent information on academic subjects can be accessible online and that libraries may readily upload books that cannot be obtained in sufficient numbers for distribution serves as a reminder of the importance of this necessity.

In a similar spirit, Hon. Habib, the deputy majority chief whip, stated that individuals who require books should have easier access to them. He acknowledged the value of the supply chain concept and discussed how it may improve effectiveness in both politics and economics.

Professor Douglas Boateng, the book's author and donor to Parliament, said that over 50,000 copies of the publication had already been sent to academic institutions throughout the globe, including Harvard University.

As policy makers are able to plan in stages and carry out these plans while understanding and appreciating the impact of one step on the other, he said that the implementation of supply chain concepts leads in efficiency and incremental improvements.

He said the book, which is available in both English and French, will shortly be posted on an app that would be released in August.
