A test that was supposed to be given today has been cancelled by the organisation in charge of the Ghana School of Law examination due to allegations that it was leaked hours beforehand.
It is alleged that a copy of the Civil Procedure test paper was distributed on several social media sites before the exam's scheduled writing date.
On Thursday, July 14, questions for a different topic may have been leaked and been cancelled, it is feared.
Following the failure of about 499 students who took the admission examinations, the organisation that controls the Law School exams faced intense criticism.
the enrollment of 499 pupils
The 499 law students who were supposedly unsuccessful on the entrance exam and were refused admission to the Ghana School of Law were enrolled in March 2022.
This came about as a result of a number of protests and discussions the students had regarding their alleged failure with the General Legal Council (GLC), the Attorney-General, and Parliament.
The GLC claimed that it decided not to admit the students because they did not match the admissions standards prior to their entrance. The pupils, however, disputed the GLC's ruling and insisted that they had fulfilled the necessary standard.
In order to handle the situation and recommend that the 499 students be enrolled into the programme, the President asked Godfred Dame to "make the required intervention to the General Legal Council on behalf of the 499 students."
The A-G then presented the Council with three different options to pick from.
The GLC was instructed to either accept the 499 students in November 2021 or suspend their admission to the Ghana School of Law until May 2022. The 499 students' last resort was for the GLC to hold a special exam in November 2021 to let them defend their admission to the Law School for the school year 2021/22.
