Benzema won't train with the Real Madrid team again until Tuesday
The Frenchman received a few additional days off and will reunite with the group for the first practice in the United States.
Karim Benzema, a striker for Real Madrid and the team's first captain, won't join the group in practice until after the team's first training session in the United States on Tuesday, July 19. The only player who hasn't joined the team yet is Benzema because he was given a few extra days off.
Since Benzema has spent the majority of his vacation time abroad, he requested permission to remain there until Tuesday in order to avoid making the lengthy trip back to Madrid in order to attend a few training sessions. French national has been practicing on his own for the last few days so that he doesn’t miss a beat when he meets his teammates on Tuesday.
Given that Benzema is already 34 years old and will represent France in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in the middle of the season, maintaining Benzema's health and fitness will be one of Ancelotti's top priorities this year.
The Real Madrid athletes have resumed their workouts in Valdebebas, with Karim Benzema the lone absentee.
The Frenchman won't arrive until July 19, but that still means he'll be back in time for Real Madrid's American tour.
Three days following his arrival, Los Blancos will play in the Las Vegas Clasico, a Soccer Champions Tour match.
However, Benzema has already started working out hard while on holiday, Nevertheless, following a season that has made him one of the favorites to win the Ballon d'Or, Carlo Ancelotti wants him to take as much time off as possible.
Ancelotti knows he can't afford to have his star player get hurt, which is why he wants him to come back with his batteries charged. With Luka Jovic gone and Mariano the only available striker behind Benzema, Mariano is the only striker available.
Because Benzema and the rest of Madrid's international players will depart for the World Cup in Qatar in November, the Italian is also keeping an eye on the future.
