Harry Maguire, the team's captain, and Bruno Fernandes have led the enthusiastic welcomes for Christian Eriksen from the Manchester United team.

The 30-year-old is Erik ten Hag's second summer addition after agreeing to a contract that would keep him at Old Trafford through 2025. Just hours after the team's 4-1 preseason friendly victory over Melbourne Victory in Australia, Eriksen's arrival was officially announced.

Eriksen joins the team as a free agent after his contract with Brentford, where he played in 11 games and registered one goal and four assists, expired. He remarked, "Manchester United is a wonderful club, and I cannot wait to start, speaking for the first time as a United player.

Even though I've had the opportunity to play at Old Trafford numerous times, wearing the red shirt of Manchester United will be an incredible feeling. I've seen Erik's work at Ajax and am aware of the degree of planning and attention to detail that he and his crew devote each day.

"It is obvious that he is an excellent instructor. I still have big goals for the game, and I know I can accomplish a lot of them.

One of the first players to welcome Eriksen was Maguire. "Welcome on board chriseriksen" he tweeted in response on his Instagram story.

Greetings were also extended by Bruno Fernandes, who posted on social media, "Welcome chriseriksen." David de Gea wrote on Twitter: "Welcome" after missing the Melbourne victory due to a minor injury.

As the Ten Hag rebuilding process gets underway, all three parties will be hoping Eriksen can be instrumental for United next season.
