Barcelona president on De Jong-Man United-connect: 'false' that midfielder will be driven out play

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has denied reports that the club will be constrained to let Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong go this pre-summer to concur with Financial Fair Play rules.

Joined are enthused about stamping De Jong for an uncovered cost of €85 million, but sources have told ESPN that the Netherlands midfielder requirements to stay at Barca.

De Jong's flight would allow Barca to cut down their cover bill and register right-back Sergi Roberto as well as new signings Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen.

Nonetheless, talking at the unveiling of Raphinha, who completed his move from Leeds United to Barca on Friday, Laporta said the club could grasp De Jong.

"It isn't really the situation that the club is constrained to sell Frenkie de Jong," Laporta said on Friday.

Laporta moreover asserted that De Jong will branch out with Barca to Miami on Saturday for their preseason visit through the United States.

Barca guide Xavi is happy with De Jong's shows, and the midfielder's potential departure would be an essentially money related decision rather than a waving one.

"Frenkie is a huge player for us and we rely upon him," Barca football boss Mateu Alemany said on Friday. "What is clear is that the Fair Play structure will drive players to leave."

Laporta, meanwhile, revealed that Ousmane Dembele, who denoted a two-year concurrence with Barca this week, has a €100m release proclamation.

Dembele's previous plan with Barca ended the prior month.

"It has taken us eight months and we've been lucky that the player referenced to remain at Barca," Alemany said.

Alemany has not blocked Barca making further signings this mid year and said: "There is at this point a month and a half to go before the trade window closes and various things can happen. However, we have [a] very clear [idea of] what the coach needs and we will endeavor to get it going."
