Brazilian winger Raphinha 'fulfills youth dream' and signs for Barcelona
Brazilian winger Raphinha said on Friday that he is "satisfying a youth dream" as he was formally presented as another Barcelona player.
"It's a gigantic distinction to be here," Raphinha said during the occasion at Barca's instructional hub.
"I have numerous idols who have passed through here and left a mark on the world. In the event that I can do half of what they did here, it will be a ton," he added.
Barca declared Raphinha's appearance on Wednesday in the wake of agreeing with Premier League side Leeds United, yet without giving details of the length of his agreement or the transfer charge.
Neighborhood media detailed that the Brazilian has signed for five seasons and Barca would pay Leeds around €55 million plus one more €15 million in potential additional items.
"He is a player that (mentor) Xavi (Hernandez) needed," said Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who went with the player at the presentation.
Xavi "insisted a ton and we at the club have done all that we would be able," added Laporta, who stressed that Raphinha showed "the desire to come to Barca".
Laporta gave Raphinha a Barca shirt with his name on it, however without a number, before both signed the agreement before the cameras.
Raphinha is Barca's third signing of the summer transfer window, after Danish defender Andreas Christensen, from Chelsea, and Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie from AC Milan, both on free transfers.
The Catalans have also been boosted by French international winger Ousmane Dembele, whose agreement terminated toward the finish of June, consenting to 'rejoin' the club on a two-year agreement.
