What did Eriksen say about Fergie a decade ago?
Christian Eriksen has been officially confirmed as a free agent by Manchester United. He was first connected to the team in the summer of 2011, and Sir Alex Ferguson talked highly of the 20-year-old forward following their Europa League matchup against Ajax.
He told TV3+, "He's a good player, an average Ajax guy who is good on the ball, but we already knew that. "The club has a lot of young players, but we're always hunting for talent. There is no way to forecast it.The young man was overjoyed to hear the storied manager speak so highly of him.
Eriksen told Ekstra Bladet, "It is nice to hear and an honor to hear him talking positive things about me, especially as it's not simply come from any old manager." I'm going to have to get used to it. He is among the best managers in the game, in my opinion. Of course, I'd like to one day play for a major club, but for the time being, I'm not thinking that big. For the time being, only Ajax is in my dream. With goals from Ashley Young and Javier Hernandez, United won the away leg 2-0. Eriksen played the full 90 minutes in the home leg, which they lost 2-1. Eriksen was replaced after an hour of play.
Eriksen joined Tottenham Hotspur for £11 million the summer after United won the title. There, he won two Player of the Year awards, was selected for the 2017–18 PFA Team of the Year, and participated in the 2019 Champions League Final against Liverpool before joining Inter Milan.
He had a heart crisis while competing for Denmark at Euro 2020, trained with his old club Ajax under Erik ten Hag's management, and finished the season on loan at Brentford.
