This summer, amid a hectic transfer window, LEEDS UNITED underwent a significant shift.
After keeping the Yorkshire team in the Premier League the previous season, Jesse Marsch wasted no time in putting his own mark on his Leeds United team. The Leeds manager will have to make a difficult lineup selection before his opening game of the season against Wolves in August after making six summer additions.
As they get ready to start the new 2022–23 season, the American coach is aware that the hard work has just begun because they have lost two of their important players and had to integrate half a dozen newcomers into the team. However, matches against teams in the same division as Wolves,If they want to finish higher this season, they must be viewed as winnable, especially so early in the new campaign.
In transactions that netted Leeds close to £100 million in guaranteed payments, Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips both departed the team for Manchester City and Barcelona, respectively. But rather than saving the money in the bank, Marsch has been working on getting agreements to replace the two and strengthen other parts of his team.
It is not unexpected that the 48-year-old has plundered those clubs to sign three of his six new players given his insider knowledge of the Red Bull trinity of clubs in Austria, Germany, and the United States. From his old club Salzburg, Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen have been recruited for a total of £43m.
Jesse Marsch: This summer, the American coach added six players to his roster.
Mateusz Klich, a more defensive midfielder, will likely be replaced by Aaronson, a gifted 21-year-old playmaker, to provide more creativity to the center of the pitch. Tyler Adams, a fellow USA international who established his reputation with New York before joining their parent club RB Leipzig in 2019, is most likely to accompany him.
Adams, a 23-year-old who cost £20 million, has been brought in as a straight replacement for Phillips and is well-liked in his own country for his athleticism and ability to get between the two boxes. To maximize the efficacy of the pair at the club level, it will be intriguing to see if Marsch uses them as a double pivot.

The Colombian winger Luis Sinisterra, who was acquired from Feyenoord in a £25 million transaction, is the obvious replacement to fill the vacuum left by Raphinha.
Sinisterra was involved in 19 goals for the Eredivisie team previous season with 12 goals and 7 assists, though replacing the Brazilian's 11 goals from last season will not be simple.
Marc Roca and Darko Gyabi won't likely be thrust into the first team; instead, they'll likely play a squad role. Roca, who was purchased from Bayern Munich for £15 million, was merely a spectator for the Bundesliga champions last season, and young Gyabi needs time to get used to his new team after being signed from Manchester City.
The 21-year-old is still a target for Leeds, according to Charles de Ketelaere. (Images )
Leeds is still looking to add new offensive players, and they are still after Charles de Ketelaere of Club Brugge.
Although the 21-year-old Belgian is keen on a move to AC Milan and his club values him at approximately £30 million, it is possible that Leeds may be able to complete a deal in time for the new season.
The forward can play in any position throughout the front three, therefore it is likely that he would start in lieu of Daniel James.
The forward can play anywhere in the front three, so if he signs on the dotted line, Daniel James would probably be replaced by him in the starting lineup.
If Patrick Bamford can show he has put his injury problems behind him, he will undoubtedly lead the attack after scoring 17 goals for Marcelo Bielsa's team in the 2020–21 season.
Potential starting lineup for Leeds against Wolves: Meslier; Kristensen; Llorente; Koch; Firpo; Adams; Aaronson; Sinisterra; Rodrigo; De Ketelaere; and Bamford
