The day before the Euro 2022 final, which will be held at Wembley, champions of the Premier League Manchester City are scheduled to play FA Cup winners Liverpool at Leicester's King Power Stadium on Saturday, July 30. During this time, train drivers from eight different companies are staging a 24-hour walkout over pay.

The majority of fans, according to FA officials, were already planning to drive to the East Midlands, but those who were going to take the train have been urged to change their minds.

"The FA is aware of scheduled industrial action across the train network on Saturday, July 30, 2022," an FA representative said.

"To evaluate the impact on the FA Community Shield in Leicester and any available backup plans, we are collaborating closely with Network Rail, the Department for Transportation, and train operating companies.

"However, according to our knowledge, the bulk of spectators for this match are anticipated to go by road, and there is enough space for both coaches and private vehicles. Anyone wanting to use the rail system is advised to look into other options.

An accessible shuttle bus service to and from the stadium will operate from both of the FA's two sizable coach parks in Leicester, which can hold both supporters' buses and private vehicles. Spaces must be reserved online in advance.

There will also be public transportation available from the city center to the King Power.

The walkout is affecting drivers from Arriva Rail London, Chiltern Railways, Greater Anglia, Great Western, Hull Trains, LNER, Southeastern, and West Midlands Trains in addition to the Community Shield.

On July 28, the Commonwealth Games begin in Birmingham, and anyone still feeling the effects of the strike on July 30 may have trouble getting to the Euro 2022 final.

Nigel Huddleston, the minister of sport, has voiced disappointment about the anticipated disruption.
