Manchester United is committed to finalizing the transfer of Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona.
According to sources, Manchester United has reiterated that they won't pursue Frenkie de Jong unless they are certain that he is willing to heading to Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag's main objective is the midfielder for Barcelona. Although the two teams have agreed on a price, the move has not yet been finalized.
As Ten Hag had previously managed De Jong at Ajax, Manchester United instantly identified the 25-year-old as their top summer transfer target.
The sum for the Netherlands international has already been agreed upon by the two clubs, with the Red Devils willing to spend an initial £63 million to bring him in.
However, there have been rumors in Catalonia that De Jong has steadfastly refused to move from the Nou Camp to Old Trafford.
However, according to The Sun, United has since stated that they wouldn't waste their time on a player if there was "any doubt over his commitment to make the move."
And it's been said that the significant transfer delay is due to the outstanding money the former Ajax star is owed.
De Jong agreed to have his compensation deferred and took a pay cut at the outset of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.

Raphinha will be moving to Barcelona from Leeds, beating out the Blues and Arsenal to sign the Brazilian international.
And Robert Lewandowski, who is eager to leave the Allianz Arena for a fresh challenge, has now agreed to a transfer fee with Bayern Munich.
United is still convinced that they will be successful in obtaining De Jong.

In addition, if they do sign the Dutchman, he will be their most recent marquee acquisition following their failure to make the Champions League.
Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao arrived in 2014 after they finished seventh in the Premier League standings under David Moyes.
When Jose Mourinho took over two years later, huge contracts for Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were completed.
Additionally, United spent a total of £130 million in 2019 on contracts for players like Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
De Jong would also mark the team's tenth acquisition from La Liga.

Jordi Cruyff, Quinton Fortune, Ricardo, Gerard Pique, and David De Gea were all players Sir Alex Ferguson coached during his time in charge of the team.
During his time in command, Louis van Gaal invaded the Spanish football scene to acquire Di Maria, Ander Herrera, and Victor Valdes.
Additionally, Eric Bailly and Raphael Varane were selected, under Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, respectively.
Meanwhile, Jamie Redknapp believes that if United were to sign De Jong, they would be pulling off a significant victory.
