At order to provide students the freedom to pay admission and any other fees in any of their 35 branches, UMB, a top commercial bank in Ghana, today pledged its complete support for the government's education plan.
Mr. Samuel Sakyi Hyde, the Bank's General Manager for Consumer Banking, stated to this reporter in Accra that "At UMB, we're always thinking of new ways to make our clients' lives easier. Because of this, we have worked with several educational institutions to make sure that their students may pay all of their tuition at any of our locations, no matter where they are in Ghana ".
University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Pentecost University, Takoradi Technical University, Koforidua Technical University, Kumasi Technical University, Christ Apostolic University, Institute of Distance Learning, Labone Senior High School, The HillTop International British School, and others are all included in the complete list of schools that are currently served by the UMB Smartfees product.
"Customers may now pay their fees at any of our locations instead of making the long trip to the school, as a result. We are working very hard to get these schools access to our online platforms very soon, so clients will soon be able to pay for these fees through them."
Admissions have started for public schools and are projected to go until the end of July. It is predicted that pupils will begin attending school in late August.
