CHELSEA manager Thomas Tuchel is ramping up his summer transfer activity.
According to Tony Cascarino, a former Chelsea striker, Chelsea have signed another Antonio Rudiger and Vincent Kompany rolled into one. Chelsea signed Kalidou Koulibaly this week, and Cascarino believes he will be an excellent addition for Thomas Tuchel.
Koulibaly had been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time. And Chelsea has finally brought him to England in a £34 million deal.
Tuchel needed new defenders after Rudiger and Andreas Christensen left at the end of their contracts. And Cascarino believes Koulibaly is an excellent replacement for the German, as well as a player who resembles former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany.
"The fans will love him because he's a fans' player, as in no-nonsense, powerful," he told talkSPORT. He reminds me of Rudiger, who they had alongside Thiago [Silva].
I believe he will be an excellent acquisition. He gets a four-year deal instead of their model of getting into your 30s and one-year deals.

"It just shows you how different models and ideas are made, and they've signed him to a four-year contract." Fans at Chelsea will adore him because of his stature. No-nonsense Kompany-type who just gets right to work. Some say he's not technically good enough, which I think is unfair. He can [carry the ball out], and he has Thiago Silva on his side, who can certainly dominate in possession. So I think it was a really, really good week of signings because Sterling and Koulibaly are two big names.
Koulibaly will face a familiar face in Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who is also a Senegal international. And Mendy has provided Chelsea supporters with an insight into the 31-year-old.

"I've known Kalidou for a while now," he told the club's website. He was the first person to welcome me to the national team, so we were in the same room when I first met him and got my first call-up, so the feeling was incredible.
