Tottenham Hotspur's goals in current transfer window know no bounds, as evidenced by the club's rumoured interest in acquiring Rodrigo de Paul from Atletico Madrid. The club has supported Antonio Conte in the market as they have already added five players to their team and are continuing to do so.
According to Giacomo Iacobellis of TuttoMercatoWeb, Tottenham has contacted De Paul and expressed interest in hiring him. The midfielder for Atletico Madrid has already turned down a number of offers, and Serie A club Fiorentina has also expressed interest in De Paul.
Iacobellis tweeted the following: "In recent weeks, Rodrigo DePaul has declined a number of offers in order to remain with #Atleti #AtleticoMadrid. Additionally, Tottenham and Fiorentina called him."
The international from Argentina moved to Los Rojiblancos from Udinese last summer for a fee of €35 million. The midfielder established himself as a staple in Diego Simeone's system, appearing in 48 games in his first season and chipping in with four goals and two assists.
In the 2021–22 season, he only missed three games for the Spanish club. Antonio Conte wants the midfielder at Tottenham for these reasons: consistency, intensity, and competitiveness.
De Paul, though, is eager to stay at Wanda Metropolitano and has no intention of leaving Spain. Although the Argentine was rejected, Conte won't be that concerned. After acquiring Rodrigo Bentancur in January, the Italian has already boosted his squad this summer with the addition of Yves Bissouma.
Tottenham will soon make public their sixth summer hire.
Spurs have reached a deal for yet another excellent player, continuing their strong run in the current transfer window. Spurs have a contract with Middlesbrough for right-back Djed Spence after signing Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, and Clement Lenglet. The athlete had had a medical exam on Friday.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the north London team will pay £20 million, plus add-ons, for the player. Spence performed admirably at Nottingham Forest last season while on loan, assisting them in gaining promotion to the Premier League.
Such a hectic transfer window is unusual for the Spurs supporters. Conte and the club's managing director Fabio Paratici deserve a lot of praise for trying to take the club to another level.
