Ace British journalist, Piers Morgan, has given a brutal verdict on Manchester United’s surprise 4-0 win over Liverpool in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday.
According to him, “If this means anything to United fans then they really have reached rock bottom.”
Manchester United beat Liverpool in Bangkok, Thailand on Tuesday in Erik ten Hag’s first game as Red Devils’ manager.
Following their very poor form last season, such a result will be a pleasant surprise for Red Devils’ fans but the TalkTV host believes they shouldn’t be getting too excited just yet.
Morgan said on the Drive, “I think if it means anything to United fans then they really have reached rock bottom.
“None of these games mean anything other than keeping players in the right level of fitness heading into August.
“Liverpool are lightyears ahead of United and it must eat away at their soul, in the same way, watching Tottenham move ahead of Arsenal eats away at my soul.”
