The young midfielder hopes to force his way into the coach's plans for the upcoming campaign.
Zidane Iqbal has acknowledged that he will do everything in his might to win over Erik ten Hag on Manchester United's preseason trip, but he hasn't completely ruled out moving on loan to secure regular playing time in 2022–23. In his two preseason games, the youthful playmaker has displayed maturity and a persistent desire to compete for the ball.
The 19-year-old is motivated to make an impact and secure his position in the club in the upcoming season despite Ten Hag rebuilding his midfield this summer.
What have Zidane Iqbal's comments about his future been?
When asked about his contribution to United's preseason trip, Iqbal responded, "This could be the only chance I get in the first team."
"I've always wanted the ball, and it's been a part of my game since I was young. What is meant to be will be, so I just do what I do. I won't look back with regret.
"I'll simply give it my best effort on the field and basically leave it up to God. I want to express my gratitude to my fans for their recent outpouring of love and support. It is an incredible sensation.
It is unclear if the Iraqi international will be included in Ten Hag's squad for the Premier League opener against Brighton on August 7. He participated in both United's 4-1 thrashing of Melbourne Victory and its 4-0 victory over Liverpool.
Iqbal, who made his United debut in the Champions League last season, has stated that if he is unable to establish himself as a senior player at Old Trafford, he would be open to a loan move.
"I've loved this club my entire life. Since I was eight or nine years old, I have played here. to perform for 90,000 spectators (in Bangkok). I've dreamed of it," he continued.
"To compete against Liverpool and Victory, even in the Champions League. It is difficult to explain. But if the chance to take out a loan presented itself, I would assess the benefits and drawbacks. It is yet too early to make a judgment. Examine what is ahead.
What will the Red Devils do next?
Iqbal will once again be a candidate for a spot in Ten Hag's starting lineup when United play Palace in their upcoming friendly on Tuesday.
The Red Devils are scheduled to play Aston Villa four days after that, and then Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano will round up their preseason campaign.
