Chelsea may eventually stop hiring players who have not received the COVID-19 immunization, according to Thomas Tuchel.

N'Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were unable to travel to America with the Blues due to immunization concerns. With the increasingly active gatherings in London, they made preparations for the upcoming season in light of everything.

Before Chelsea's upcoming matchup against Club America, Tuchel was questioned about whether manager would take a player's vaccination history into account when choosing possible trade targets.

Without a doubt, it must [be a factor], Tuchel retorted.

I have a number of players who I would also take unvaccinated as a key worry. Undoubtedly, it is true that it is now a part of everyday existence, and I can't help but admit it.

"No player may be forced to receive vaccines. Making the decision to get immunized right now is only typical. The two participants rejected it. The guidelines must be followed. They cannot accompany us. They are accustomed to the effects.

"It annoys us. Of course not. We couldn't think of anything better than having them here, despite the fact that it isn't the ideal choice. Not in the slightest ideal in any manner. Whatever the case, a solution should be sought when the problem is thus straightforward.

"They are used by the Under-23s to prepare. They go to the Under-19s at that moment, but it won't make up for it. There won't be a lot of consistency in the experience [of playing for the first team]."

Following Reece James' own goal in the final period, Chelsea went on to defeat Club America 2-1. On either side of the goal, Timo Werner and Mason Mount scored during the continuation phase.

After the victory, Tuchel was questioned by the media about signing Kalidou Koulibaly, who on Saturday transferred from Napoli to Chelsea for an undisclosed sum of £33.8 million (€40 million).

"He provides knowledge, quality, top protecting, quality, level, all that we're looking for to play a back three or back four," Tuchel said in reference to his new concentration back.

"Given that it's a great game strategy and yet another inspirational completing desk task for us, we must assume that he can demonstrate his ability as soon as possible. He is now getting ready outside as a result of showing up yesterday, and we are pleased.

"He plays with [Edouard Mendy] for the public gathering and knows [Jorginho] from Napoli, so I assume that he will immediately feel at ease within the group because he is familiar with a few of the players. Everyone in the carefully put-together group is happy that he is currently with us."

Koulibaly, who is 31 and entering the prime of his career, will have an impact similar to that of Thiago Silva, who joined the team two seasons earlier at the age of 35, according to Tuchel.

The head coach for the Blues stated, "He is sticking around for exactly that, which is why we believe that his most defining years are still to come.

"Because of his importance to Napoli, there were frequently rumors that he was going. Nevertheless, finding him was difficult in every circumstance and ultimately impossible.

"It's amazing that he understands the interest at the moment given that Thiago Silva, who is substantially more prepared, more ready, despite everything succeeding, is likewise accessible.

"We believe Kalidou will need to play for us in that capacity for a long. He must be in excellent physical condition in order to be fully fit and ready for the test."
