Bayern Munich has stated once again that they have no intention of bringing Cristiano Ronaldo to the club this summer.

The German giants have long been linked with Manchester United's wantaway star, who is looking for a way out of Old Trafford and into the Champions League.

However, Bayern Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic has moved to deny the club's desire to bring the 37-year-old to the Allianz Arena once more.

I admire Cristiano Ronaldo, his achievements, and his career. But, once again, that was and is not our topic.' Salihamidzic spoke to SPORT1.

The latest rejection is a setback for Ronaldo's desire to leave Manchester United during the summer transfer window. Bayern Munich is the latest club to withdraw from the race.

Chelsea and PSG have both distanced themselves from the striker, and early interest from Napoli and Atletico Madrid appears to have waned.

Earlier this week, Cristiano turned down an offer to join an unnamed Saudi Arabian club, which would have made him the highest-paid player in the world.

The club had made a £25 million bid to United and were planning to offer Ronaldo a staggering £250 million in wages over the next two seasons if he agreed to relocate to the Middle East.

However, his desire to compete for major trophies in a top league in his final years means a move to Saudi Arabia is out of the question.

While Ronaldo is unlikely to join Bayern, the club may still need to add a forward after finally agreeing to sell Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona.

The Polish striker has made no secret of his desire to join the Spanish giants, and a fee of £42 million has been agreed upon with Barcelona. Lewandowski is scheduled to fly out to the club today to finalize the deal.

The German champions have already spent £35.1 million to sign Sadio Mane from Liverpool, as well as Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui ahead of the new Bundesliga season.
