Toney, 26, made an impression in his debut full season in the Premier League last year, scoring 12 goals in 33 outings for Brentford.
Toney had previously been at Newcastle, but the Magpies never really gave him the opportunity to succeed.

Toney now appears to be the whole package as a top-tier Premier League striker who can create countless issues with his physicality, aerial presence, speed, running in behind, and link-up play.
Although it won't be an easy transaction, Newcastle appears to want to bring Toney back as competition for Chris Wood and Callum Wilson.
It's difficult to imagine Leeds winning this conflict, especially given West Ham's apparent desire to spend big money on a striker following bids for Gianluca Scamacca and Armando Broja.
However, Manchester United are a whole different proposition, and Ten Hag might see certain traits in Toney that he used to see in Sebastien Haller, an Ajax striker.
Even though Toney isn't quite as tall as Haller, Ten Hag used him as the Ajax attacker's focal point, using his target man skills to devastating effect. United could now move for Toney in a similar role despite his shorter stature.
