Award-winning singer, Davido has advised Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State to forget about studying the results of the just concluded gubernatorial elections and congratulate his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who was announced as the winner.
Davido’s advice follows Oyetola’s earlier comment where he called for calm in his state while noting that he was still studying the results of the elections that led to his defeat on Saturday.
The singer’s advice read: “What you should be doing is calling to congratulate your successor. Forget studies.”
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Sunday morning, had declared Mr Adeleke as the winner of the Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
Announcing the results at the INEC Collation Centre, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, who was the Returning Officer, said that Mr Adeleke polled 403,371 votes to defeat his closet rival, Mr Oyetola, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 375,027 votes.
