West Ham submit improved £30m-plus bid for Chelsea’s Armando Broja

West Ham have submitted an improved bid for Armando Broja of £30m plus add-ons and are close to agreeing personal terms with the Chelsea striker. Broja has told Chelsea he wants a permanent move, not another loan after spending last season at Southampton, and Everton could also bid for the 20-year-old. West Ham made a £25m offer on Friday as they seek to strengthen a forward line in which the 32-year-old Michail Antonio is the only senior player. Broja, who scored nine goals in all competitions for Southampton last season, has returned to England from Chelsea’s US tour because of an injury which is understood not to be serious. Everton are looking for a striker after selling Richarlison to Tottenham and there has also been interest in Broja from Newcastle and Napoli.

West Ham are trying to pulling off a sensational trio of moves along with Armando Broja. The Hammers are looking to continue their fine era under David Moyes, with Chelsea’s young striker looking set to come in on a permanent switch. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “West Ham are now close to signing Armando Broja. Talks progressing with Chelsea, West Ham insist for a permanent deal after the official offer is submitted but it’s up to the Blues. Broja has agreed personal terms with West Ham - all parties are getting closer.” The towering forward had been linked to Everton and Newcastle but it appears that it’s the Irons that have come in and swooped for a move. The Standard report that Broja has been David Moyes’ number one target all summer and even though Chelsea had wanted to provide him with another loan spell, it is reported that a £30million bid has been made and personal terms already accepted.
