New national executives were chosen for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over a very hectic weekend of party elections.

The major outcome was the election of Stephen Ayesu Ntim as the head of the ruling party, especially as this was a long-awaited outcome after 20 years of waiting.

Even while many prominent party figures, like pollster Ben Ephson, expected that John Boadu would win three consecutive elections, the largest victory came as the biggest surprise when Justin Frimpong Kodua handed him a humiliating defeat.

But two other NPP leaders, who undoubtedly are basking in the glory of their enormous victories, were the only ones to see it. Rita Talata Asobayire and Kate Gyamfuah deserve praise, even if the news headlines haven't paid them much attention.

We examine these two women's backgrounds and how well they performed in defending their party views in this GhanaWeb article.
