After putting a remark on Raphinha's Instagram post announcing his departure to Barcelona, Romelu Lukaku riled up a few Chelsea supporters. This summer, the Blues, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Barcelona were all rumored to be interested in signing the former Leeds United talisman.

The west Londoners fought long and hard for the 25-year-signature; old's Todd Boehly reached an agreement with Jesse Marsch's side for Raphinha which, in principle, would have seen Chelsea sign the winger for a fee in the region  of €60m. According to rumors, the Blues were previously in the best position to sign the Brazil international, but the Spanish powerhouses patiently waited and pounced at the last minute.

Lukaku expressed his feelings about his parent club missing out on the deal, despite the trade blow still being severe and Chelsea supporters still licking their wounds. The Belgian international, who is presently on loan at Inter Milan despite having a deal with Stamford Bridge that runs through 2026, made many Blues fans upset in the process.

Lukaku posted a fire emoji as a comment under Raphinha's Instagram post announcing his transfer to Barcelona, effectively snubbing Chelsea. This implied his excitement for the deal. As soon as it was screenshotted and posted on Twitter, Chelsea supporters poured in to declare the Belgium forward out.

If Lukaku's future in west London wasn't previously in doubt due to the turmoil surrounding him in the past, it certainly is now. especially in light of his summer loan return to Inter during which he made a weak jab at Chelsea.

He expressed sorrow for quitting the Italian powerhouses 11 months prior in a new interview with the media. At a gathering, sitting next to Nicolo Barella, Lukaku remarked as reported by Football Italia: "My career's biggest test will come during this current season. I left. Right, Nico, it was a mistake. [giggles].

"Now that I am donning this shirt, I'm excited about the challenge ahead. The team is aware of what needs to be done this challenge of my career will be this season here. I left. It was a mistake, right Nico? [giggles].

"Now I am happy to be wearing this jersey, the team knows what we need to do, it’ll be a great challenge this season and we need to continue like this. I realised last season when I was in England, just how important Inter are in the world."
