Just a few weeks after leaving Watford, MAURICIO POCHETTINO witnessed his son join a new team.
After unsuccessful experiences at Watford and Tottenham, Maurizio Pochettino, the father, has signed a contract with Gimnastic de Tarragona. The third-tier Spanish football club, which is a minnow, has signed the 21-year-old winger to a three-year deal.
Before the pair both moved to Spurs, Pochettino Junior was on the books at Southampton during his father's spell on the south coast. However, the youngster's contract with Watford expired earlier this summer, leaving him a free agent.
Pochettino, who played for the Hornets in just one senior game, has returned to Spain and will team up with Gimnastic Tarragona. The teenager signed a one-year contract with the Spanish organization, with an option to extend it for an additional two years.
Pochettino played a small amount of senior football in Hertfordshire, but he was a regular for Watford's U23 team, where he frequently played as a wing-back.

Pochettino junior, though, was removed from Watford's roster in a significant purge earlier this summer as a result of the club's relegation from the Premier League, only weeks after Pochettino received his professional debut against Brentford in May.
The Hornets mercilessly cut 27 players once their fate was decided, including several seasoned first-team talents like Ben Foster, Andre Gray, and Nicolas Nkoulou.
While Pochettino has returned to the field of play, his father, Mauricio, is still jobless after being fired by Paris Saint-Germain last month. Due to PSG's poor performance in the Champions League, when they were eliminated by Real Madrid in the Round of 16, the Argentinean coach was fired.

PSG did win the Ligue 1 championship under Pochettino, but the French powerhouse has decided to freshen things up by restructuring every aspect of their off-field operations. Pochettino has been replaced in charge by Cristophe Galtier, while Luis Campo has assumed the position of football advisor for the team after Leonardo was fired from his position as sports director.
It is unknown where Pochettino will end up after losing out to Erik ten Hag for the position of Manchester United manager before losing his job at the Parc des Princes.
Tottenham has been connected with the 50-year-old in the past, but Antonio Conte is presently leading the Londoners to success. Since taking over as head coach of Spurs in November, the Italian has had a significant impact, therefore it's unlikely that the team will be considering a Pochettino comeback anytime soon.
