THE PRESIDENT'S REFUSAL TO WORK WITH THE NEW CROP OF NPP LEADERS WILL RESULT IN THEIR FAILURE. DOCTO

According to Dr. Amoako Baah, the head of the political science department at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), the success of the present New Patriotic Party executives hinges on how well they get along with the President.

He asserts that it is crucial for the team to figure out how to collaborate closely with the President in order to encourage him to make improvements while there is still time before the 2024 elections.

Despite the fact that this new group of executives benefits from variables like age balance, regional balance, and party work experience, he claimed that if the President refused to work with them, they would be rendered ineffective.

The best efforts of the elected leaders are ultimately ineffective if they do not result in executive action. The focus should be on the government since the people are not angry with the elected representatives; rather, they are angry with the administration.

All of the incoming crowd dynamics are fine, but they are meaningless if they cannot be converted into actions that the executive can carry out to increase people's comfort levels. People are really angry, and when someone is very upset, they need to be addressed to and offered gentle words.

The only alternative left, he said, was to get the administration to provide results within the remaining time if they intended to break the eight because persons who had in the past soothed party members and won sympathy for the party have now lost their credibility and fallen out with the people.

The issue is that the persons who are meant to speak to them, such as Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, lack credibility and are therefore completely ignored. So, even though they may listen to Koduah, Nana Addo is not a favorite. What are you going to do about that?

"That is the issue, because Nana Addo is the candidate they're focusing on, and they're the ones who can make changes so that people would turn out to vote for NPP again. To turn things around, they would need to find a way to convince the President to listen to them. Otherwise, no matter how good they appear to be, they will fail, so yes, they must work very hard," he said.

It is alarmingly obvious that Dr. Amoako-Baah, who attended school in part here in the United States of America, does not fully and strategically understand the complex and invariably risky business of realpolitik, despite his impressive credentials in the academic disciplines of history and political science. If he had, the critic would have fully understood that it does not matter how long a prospective nominee for the New Patriotic Party's flagbearership, who is politically and/or presidentially ambitious, has been in the race, has been agitating and yearning for the position in the lead-up to the 2024 General Election, but rather the staying power or enduring political value and credibility that the concerned would-be candidate has with both the movers-and-shakers or kingmakers (and queenmakers) of the New Patriotic Party, and not just because Vice-President Bawumia, a relative latecomer, in Dr. Amoako-opinion, Baah's has been too

You see, the issue with this scathing and acerbic but largely self-serving critic is that the current president, Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, stood firmly "in line" or on line relatively longer than and well before the arrival of the man who soundly defeated him for a shot at the party's nomination for President in the run-up to the 2000 General Election. To put it more plainly, In comparison to former President John (Kofi Diawuo) Agyekum-Kufuor, Nana Akufo-Addo has a distinguished heritage that spans a considerably wider temporal range and deeper historical ties to both our monarchical and postcolonial modern political cultures. However, it goes without saying that, prior to the 2000 Presidential Election, the latter factual truth was not what mattered the most. The sovereign will and desire of the Ghanaian people were what really counted.

In other words, Vice-President Bawumia, a man with a virtually equally illustrious familial political heritage and remarkable personal and professional achievements, has absolutely no authority whatsoever to dictate the political trajectory and/or destiny of Dr. Amoako-Baah.

The quite local prominent and morally self-absorbed critic also cannot conveniently claim that the Kufuor-Kyerematen-Mpiani Cabal or Faction of the New Patriotic Party had no influence whatsoever on the skin-of-tooth failures of Candidate Akufo-Addo and Vice-Candidate Bawumia to secure the Presidency in 2008 and 2012, or that they were not negatively affected politically. if in fact , If Dr. Amoako-Baah truly intends to hold President Akufo-Addo and Vice-President Bawumia fully responsible for the New Patriotic Party's political and/or electoral setbacks that started with the 2008 presidential election, then the critic would be much better situated or much more credible to fully take an objective account of all the various significant factors that contributed to such chain of failures.

Dr. Amoako-Baah is unable to cherry-pick only the historical events that seem to suit his blatantly biased portion of the argument. He has to go all the way, or as Americans like to say, "the nine yards." Furthermore, it is absurd for the critic to suggest that anyone is blocking Vice President Bawumia from vigorously challenging him for the party's presidential nomination in the run-up to the 2024 general election.

It is simply and unquestionably a healthy democratic debate between opposing viewpoints and the relative political accomplishments of the candidates. Which set of Fourth Republican Ghanaian leaders has served the country best or more admirably? That is a question that should be left up to the Ghanaian electorate, not Dr. Amoako-Baah or any of the candidates whose water jug(s) he obviously appears to be carrying, with their strategically skewed and sluggish opinion or political agenda.
