Emery kissed him back this time around and it went deeper
His hands left her hips and moved to her butt
It stayed there throughout as their lips kept battling in each other’s mouths
But she broke it abruptly when she felt it’s not right, their lips made a pouty sound as it disconnected
She ran out of the office just like she ran out of the room last night
Raymond licked his lips and wished it never ended
“I love her” he thought, feeling his pounding heart
He smiled afterwards and kissed the ring on his finger before taking his seat…

Emery held her chest tight immediately she got to her desk
It’s making wild sounds
She has never felt like this before, not even when she had her first kiss with Jerry

Emery sighed and stared into space
“No wonder my heart beats irregularly anytime he’s around and no wonder my body responds to his moves, no wonder he told me to avoid Rick, jealousy?, No wonder he kissed me twice already…. Emery what will you do now?, Is he really in love with me? ” She thought again…
Raymond suddenly came out of his office
” When is my next schedule?” He asked
She swallowed hard before answering
“You’re free now sir, till tommorow, I forwarded it to you already” she replied awkwardly
” Oh… Ok… Have you had lunch?” He asked
” No” she replied
” What do you wanna eat? ” He asked
She hesitated before replying
“key lime pie” she said
“I guess I’ll have that too” he replied and made a phone call, ordering for it
” Come in” he said, going into his office
She sighed and stood, walking in behind him
He sat and she kept standing
He looked at her
“Emery I don’t need to tell you to sit before you’ll do that” he said, almost pleading
She took her seat in front of him and her heart started the wild beats again
He concentrated on his laptop, working on it and using a part of his eyes to look at her
She caught him severally but kept mute
The order came and he went to the door to take it himself
He came back with it and placed it on the table
It came with a drink
He got two cups from his office cellar and poured the drink
He took one of the pie and gave it to her
She took it
“Thanks” she said slowly
He took one too and took his sit again
“Enjoy” he said, pressing the laptop so fast and eating at the same time
Emery kept staring at him
“You aren’t gonna eat?” He said even without looking at her
She quickly started eating
“Good” he said, hitting the laptop more
“You seem agitated” she said
He finally looked up from the laptop and sighed
” It’s Yung, threatening us about the Whales contract again, he came to my DM this time” he replied
” Is he, someone influential?” She asked
” Yes … But not like us, he’s just threatening for nothing… he’ll soon get tired and stop” he replied and took a bite of the pie
The way he chews gently makes him look more adorable
She smiled and he caught her
“What?”
“I….I mean…your unique way of eating” she said awkwardly
He smiled
” A lot of people commented about that already, but yours swept me off my feet” he replied and winked
She almost chocked on her food just like the last time cos of the wink
But she quickly took the drink and poured it down her throat to avoid that
The crumbs of the pie is on her lips
He looked up and saw it
She looked as innocent as ever
He stood and had it in mind to remove it with a kiss but he decided not to give her another shock
He took tissues and wiped her lips with it
She kept staring at him throughout
“Am I that handsome?” He said, sitting down after he’s done with the wiping
She looked away
“I’m just…. thankful” she said slowly
He smiled for the uptenth time today…

“Hey come out I’m in front of your company” Julius said to Glenn on phone
” I need to eat lunch now, and you should have called before coming” she replied, staring at the hotdogs and juice on her desk
“We can just go eat lunch together, sure?’ he said
She sighed
” Julius…
“Talk please”
” Ok sure, I’ll be out in a jiffy” she replied and went out to meet him
Blake is not in the office so she’s free
She met Julius outside beside his car
“You should have come in, at least to say hi to your friend” she said
“Raymond?, No, i don’t want to argue with him today too” he replied

” Wait, not even a hug ?” He said
She rolled eyes at him
” Where are we going for lunch?” She said
“Chef Mira’s place, it’s anew but classic restaurant, let’s hit the road” he said, opening the car door for her
She got in and he did the same
His driver started the ride to the restaurant
“Whoa!” She exclaimed when they got to the restaurant
It’s not too big but it looks posh
“I told you, see you like it* Julius said
They went in together and sat
A server appeared to take orders
She read the menu and smiled
“I and Emery are supposed to have a lunch of key lime pie together but it’s sad I’ll have to eat it alone” she said
” I’m here” Julius replied
She smiled
“Key lime pie please, and a diet Coke” she said
“You sound like you like diet Coke a lot” Julius said
“My best soft drink” she replied with a smile
“Give me same thing like she ordered” Julius said to the server
He left afterwards
“So…what should we talk about?, Wait are your parents here in New York?” She asked
He smiled sadly
“they died in a plane crash long ago, so I’m alone” he replied
Glenn felt bad for asking Immediately
“I’m so sorry” she said
“It’s ok, what about you?” He asked
“My parents are dead too, since I was young” she replied
” I’m sorry” he said
” It’s fine, and I really have wanted to ask this, we all know chairman Crown is late since five years ago…
“Not just an ordinary death, he died of stroke on a wheelchair, a painful death, and since then, my friend has been suffering from migraine.. and about Blake, he’s not like this about ladies before, he became like that since chairman Crown’s death” Julius said
” How pathetic, ok chairman Crown is dead, where’s their mum, I mean the chairwoman” Glenn asked
Julius smiled but it quickly dissappeared
” I guess you’ll meet her soon, I just have a feeling she’ll soon come back” he replied as their orders arrived
” Where is she?, And what kind of a person is she?” She asked
” Trust me you won’t wanna hear about her but let’s give you small tip… have you ever heard of a crazy mother?, She’s the true definition of that, she smokes cigarettes more than the devil…. she’s hot tempered, hates being tampered with, she left New York since chairman’s death five years ago, and no one knows where she left for…. and you know what?, Her two sons hate her like no other, madam Brenda is a devil..sorry to say”he replied, taking his pie
” That’s horrible” Glenn said…

“So their mum is still alive?” Emery said after Glenn told her the story
” Yes” she replied
” But what kind of a mother leaves her children after her husband’s death” she said
“even without seeing her, I’m already getting scared of her” Glenn said
” I dunno why but I’m not scared, so far she’s a human” Emery replied
” So…did you later eat lunch?” Glenn asked
” Yes, with my boss” she replied
” How sweet!, Just don’t you worry, everything will be fine” Glenn said
” But do you think another relationship is the best for me now?, It’s barely been three days” she said
” Calm down sweetie, he loves you, I can assure you of that, and if it’s about Liz…
“He broke up with Liz already, he caught her cheating with her brother”
“What!, Holy hell!” Glenn shouted
” Yes… but I’m still scared, bitches don’t give up easily” she said
” Just don’t be feeble” Glenn said with a smile
” You’re the best friend in the whole world” she said and her phone rang
It’s Raymond
She quickly picked
” Emery, I just hope I’m not disturbing your sleep” he said
” No…I’m not asleep yet” she replied
“Oh really… have you had dinner?”
” Yes…. spicy spaghetti” she replied
” Cool, I called to feel your warmth” he said
“You can’t possibly feel a person’s warmth from the phone” she said
“I know when I’m talking about Emery…by the way, I’ll be coming to work late tommorow, stay in my office throughout” he said
” Yes sir” she replied
” I’m glad you didn’t make me repeat that” he said and they both laughed out loud
” Ok … Go to bed please, Early to bed is early to rise… sleep like a cute puppy” he said
She blushed heavily
” I will..bye”
She hung up and smiled

Next day, midday***
Emery yawned softly after finishing half of the work for today…
Raymond said he’ll be coming late but it’s midday already, and he’s not at work yet
She’s about to dial his number when the door opened, revealing Liz
Emery stood immediately she entered
Liz dropped her bag on the table, giving Emery killer looks
“What are you doing in my boyfriend’s office” she demanded with her arms akimbo
” Ask me that again” Emery replied
“Did you just talk back?, Like seriously you’ve grown wings but you know what?, I’m here to pluck them off … you boyfriend snatcher!” Liz flared and grabbed Emery’s shirt, trying to tear it off her body
“Stop this madness Liz!” She said as she struggled with her
“No I won’t, bitch, how dare you sit in here, we haven’t broke up, he’s just mad at me cos he told me already that no matter what I do… he’ll forever be in love with me so stop being cheap…you’re cheap!, Stop pushing yourself to him you prostitute!” Liz ranted and succeeded in tearing the front of her shirt, revealing a part of her bra
She made to slap Emery but Emery held her hand
That instant she slapped her with her second hand
Emery’s face became red and her eyeballs are not exceptional too
Liz pulled her hair and she struggled hard but Liz is too strong
The door pushed open and Raymond entered with a nylon in his hand
He threw it on the ground when he saw the scene
He rushed to the scene and took Emery from Liz
He’s too shocked
Emery’s face and eyes is all red
The front of her shirt is torn and her hair is all scattered, making her look pitiful
She immediately ran out of his office
“Emery!, Emery!” He called and made to run after her but Liz held his hand
He looked back at her with anger filled eyes, if anger can make one run mad, he’d be in shackles by now
“Raymond please just look at me one more time, I promise to make it up to you” she said
He took his hand from her and instantly slapped her right cheek hard
She held it tight and in shock
Raymond will always say he’ll never hit a lady
“Raymond…you slapped me?” She said in shock
“Calm down prostitute, there’s still more” he said and slapped her second cheek too…
